Nizammudin Dargah

Faith, in the form of religion, is such an important, daily aspect of most Indians' lives. That's obvious in the plethora of temples, shrines, mosques, and places of worship around every corner. Even where I currently live, the local temple is probably the most reliable landmark.

India is incredibly religious diverse. The majority of Indians are Hindu (about 80%) but there are sizeable minorities of Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains. There is also a significant tribal (adivasi) population in different parts of the country. The religious diversity is so complex, that for every assertion one makes, the opposite is also true...

Anyhow, above is a picture from a dargah or mausoleum of a Muslim Sufi saint, Hazrat Nizammuddin, taken on a Saturday afternoon. I won't bore you with the history or significance of dargahs, but Muslims as well as those of other faiths are standing in line to visit his grave and gain spiritual blessings.
